Job summary

The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge is looking for a Casual Visitor Engager to bring wetlands, wildlife and conservation to life through engaging activities and memorable visitor encounters.

You'll lead talks, pond dipping, crafts and storytelling, working with staff to create welcoming experiences for visitors of all ages. Weekend and holiday hours are required on an ad hoc basis.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills suitable for engaging visitors of all ages.
• Experience delivering high-quality customer service or visitor engagement in a public setting.
• Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to tailor activities for diverse audiences.
• Confidence performing in character and using storytelling to create immersive experiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver spotlight talks, pond-dipping sessions, crafts and activities.
• Lead and support science shows and interactive demonstrations.
• Engage visitors, inspire learning about wetlands and conservation.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure welcoming experiences.
