Job summary

Kenect Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Wet Paint Sprayer in Smethwick within a busy manufacturing setting. You will prepare components, mix paints to spec, and apply high-quality finishes using spray equipment.

The role requires attention to detail, health & safety awareness, and the ability to work on rotating shifts during peak periods with a 20% shift allowance. A proactive, reliable approach is essential for meeting production targets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Wet Paint Sprayer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience using water-based paint systems.
• Lacquer spraying experience would be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, clean and mask metal components prior to painting.
• Mix paints accurately in line with technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Apply high-quality wet paint finishes using manual spray equipment.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and quality standards.
• Carry out paint quality checks, including adhesion testing, colour matching, paint thickness measurements, viscosity testing.
• Ensure complete primer and paint coverage across all products.
• Safely handle paints, thinners and associated materials in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work closely with Team Leaders and colleagues to meet production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with other production duties, including preparation, inspection and packing, when required.
