Job summary

Academics is recruiting Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants to support Welsh-medium primary schools across Pontypridd and the wider Rhondda Cynon Taf area. Roles are flexible, ad-hoc, and day-to-day, allowing you to choose when you work around other commitments.

Ideal candidates will be fluent in Welsh, have experience with children, and be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS and EWC registration. Opportunities cover local schools and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh language and communication in classroom settings.
• Experience supporting children in primary school environments.
• Desirable TA experience or previous classroom assistance roles.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers and pupils in Welsh-medium primary schools.
• Assist with classroom activities and create a positive learning environment.
• Contribute to day-to-day teaching activities on a flexible/ad-hoc basis.
• Adapt to different class groups across Pontypridd and Rhondda Cynon Taf areas.
• Maintain reliable attendance and flexible scheduling according to availability.

The Role

• Supporting teachers and pupils within Welsh-medium primary schools

• Working on a day-to-day or ad-hoc basis, depending on your availability
• Opportunities to work across Pontypridd and surrounding areas of Rhondda Cynon Taf

We are looking for

• Fluent Welsh speakers
• Previous experience working with children
• Previous Teaching Assistant or classroom experience is highly desirable
• A genuine interest in supporting children and their learning
• Flexibility and reliability

Requirements
