Teaching Personnel are recruiting fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants to work across Torfaen schools. Roles include 1:1 pupil support, ALN/SEN support, and behaviour and emotional wellbeing assistance.

We offer both full-time and part-time placements, with competitive daily pay (£92.63) and ongoing ALN/SEN, behaviour and CPD opportunities; successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks and DBS.

Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistants - Torfaen

Location: Torfaen

Rate of Pay: £92.63 per day / £14.25 per hour

Hours: Full-time and part-time available

Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants to work across schools in the Torfaen area.

We are looking for enthusiastic, patient and committed individuals who can provide high-quality support to pupils across a range of primary school settings and needs.

Candidates must be fluent Welsh speakers.

The role

Teaching Personnel are working with schools across Torfaen who require additional Teaching Assistant support. Opportunities may include:

• 1:1 pupil support - providing tailored support to pupils within and outside of the classroom.
• ALN/SEN support - supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
• Behaviour and emotional support - helping pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Nurture support - helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
• Intervention and catch-up support - providing targeted academic support to pupils who may have missed learning or require additional help.
• General classroom support - assisting the class teacher and supporting pupils with their learning and development.

You will not necessarily be supporting all of these areas. Placements will be matched according to your experience, strengths, skills and suitability for the individual school and pupils.

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Fluent in Welsh
• Have experience working with children within the last 3 years
• Ideally have experience within ALN/SEN, behaviour support, nurture, emotional wellbeing, 1:1 intervention or catch-up support
• Patient, calm and consistent
• Caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Confident supporting children with additional needs
• Adaptable and able to respond to individual pupil needs
• Able to follow individual support plans and school procedures
• Reliable and committed to providing high-quality support
• Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with hours dependent on the requirements of each school.
