Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant in Blackwood to support the Nursery class on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate must be fluent in Welsh and comfortable working with ALN students, collaborating with the classroom teacher to deliver engaging activities.

Qualifications

• A Teaching Assistant/Childcare qualification OR at least 6 months experience working with children
• Fluent verbal and written Welsh ability
• Experience working with children that have ALN
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• Ability to build valued and trusted relationships with students
• A can-do, positive attitude and approach to their work
• Patience and ability to remain calm under stressful situations

Responsibilities

• Support in Nursery class and day-to-day activities alongside the classroom teacher
• Create an engaging learning environment for all pupils
• Assist with literacy and oral Welsh language development
• Maintain a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere
