Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistant in Cardiff to join a welcoming Welsh-medium school. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to build confidence and essential learning skills.

Working Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., you’ll earn £92.59 per day with weekly pay. DBS checks are required or you must be willing to obtain one; prior experience with children is valued.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh language skills (spoken and written).
• At least 3 months experience working with children.
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain) and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support and small-group interventions to help pupils engage with learning.
• Supporting learners with literacy, numeracy, and wider additional learning needs.
• Assisting classroom teachers with inclusive support strategies, encouraging positive behaviour and participation.

Welsh-Speaking Learning Support Assistant required for an exciting full-time opportunity in Cardiff. Working within a welcoming Welsh-medium school setting, you’ll join a supportive Learning Support team focused on helping pupils build confidence, independence, and essential learning skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support and small-group interventions to help pupils engage with learning
• Supporting learners with literacy, numeracy, and wider additional learning needs (including emotional wellbeing where appropriate)
• Assisting classroom teachers with inclusive support strategies, encouraging positive behaviour and participation

Requirements & Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh language skills (spoken and written)
• 3 months experience working with children.
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain) and a strong commitment to safeguarding
