Job summary

Careers Wales, a Welsh Government subsidiary, is seeking a Welsh-language translator for maternity cover. You will own and deliver translation services across website content, overseeing high-volume machine translation and quality assurance to retain meaning.

The role requires a degree and proven English-Welsh translation experience, with qualifying Welsh language proficiency. Based in Wales with hybrid working, the post offers 37 hours per week, a salary of £30,993–£37,330, and a closing date

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification required.
• Proven translation experience English to Welsh and Welsh to English.
• Proficient Welsh language speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver a Welsh-English translation service for website content.
• Oversee large volumes of machine-translated content and QA for accuracy.
• Update and publish data on website services within agreed timeframes.
