Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is recruiting a Welsh language officer to join the Cymraeg team. You will promote the Council’s Welsh language services and act as an ambassador for Welsh language and culture.

The role leads with the Welsh Language Commissioner’s Office to address breaches and ensures obligations are met. You will work with a range of stakeholders to meet Welsh-language targets and require excellent spoken and written Welsh, plus strong communication across diverse audiences.

Job description

We are looking for a Welsh language officer to join our Cymraeg team.

You will help promote and market the Council’s Welsh language services, acting as an ambassador for the Welsh language and culture.

The role involves acting as a lead for the Council with the Welsh Language Commissioner’s Office, ensuring allegations of breaches of the Welsh Language Standards are appropriately addressed.

You will work with a range of stakeholders to ensure the Council meet its obligations and targets in relation to the Welsh Language.

You’ll need to have excellent oral and written Welsh Language skills in addition to being an excellent communicator across a range of audiences.
