Job summary

Careers Wales is seeking a Welsh language translator to cover maternity leave (up to 12 months). The role is full-time (37 hours per week) with a base to be determined on appointment, offering hybrid working and a competitive salary between £30,993 and £37,330.

The successful candidate will translate English and Welsh content, ensure high-quality bilingual services, and update website data within agreed timeframes.

Qualifications

• A degree level qualification.
• Proven experience of translation from English to Welsh and Welsh to English.
• A proficient level of skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in Welsh.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver a translation service ensuring bilingual content meets user needs.
• Oversee high volume machine translated content and provide quality assurance to retain meaning.
• Update and publish large quantities of data on website services within agreed timeframes.
