Role : Wellness Centre Fitness Instructor
Shifts : Asrequired onweekdays and weekends between 7:30am – 5:30pm
Hourly Rate: £12.60 per hour
Set in the parish of Bishopstoke within the historic county of Hampshire, our retirement village is located within a beautiful natural woodland, not far from the Itchen Navigation. Our 42-acre retirement village provides a carefully selected range of independent living accommodation alongside extensive communal facilities and beautiful surroundings to meet the varying needs of our residents.
You will be working in our Wellness Centre which has a gym, fitness studio, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
Reporting into the Wellness Suite Managers, responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Planning and Delivering fitness and movement classes in our Fitness Studio
• Undertaking Gym inductions and gym maintenance checks
• Providing general fitness, movement and lifestyle advice to our residents
• Routine daily swimming pool water sample tests
• Cleaning and admin duties within the Wellness Centre
• Planning and facilitating stimulating activities & events, promoting independence and choice
• Compliance with internal and external Health and Safety protocols
• Liaising with other staff in the Village and outside contractors
Essential Qualifications and skills:
• Level 2 recognised Fitness Qualification , Exercise to Music, Chair based Exercise etc
• Ability to Swim
Desirable Qualifications and experience:
• Level 3 recognised Personal Trainer qualification OR advanced Fitness Instructor
• Specialised fitness qualifications , Older Adults, Back Pain, Diabetes, Rehabilitation, Chair based Exercise
• Experience of working with older people
• First Aid Certification
• Group Exercise Qualification , Aqua, Yoga, Pilates
• Pool Plant Qualification
• Swimming Pool Emergency Rescue Award (SPERA) or other Lifesaving qualification
Required skills:
• Well organized and able to plan workload.
• Strong interpersonal and empathy skills and a friendly personality.
• Able to work individually and as part of a team.
