Job summary

Gordon Moody is seeking a Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner to deliver low-intensity CBT-based wellbeing support to individuals affected by gambling-related harm. The role involves assessments, goal setting, short-term interventions, risk management and safeguarding within a multidisciplinary team.

The post requires a background in low-intensity CBT or equivalent, with experience in mental health or addiction settings, and a commitment to professional development and service improvement.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT, or equivalent in mental health, counselling, psychology, social care or wellbeing practice
• Experience in mental health, addiction, or complex emotional wellbeing needs
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management

Responsibilities

• Deliver low-intensity therapeutic interventions and psychologically informed wellbeing support to people affected by gambling-related harm
• Support assessments and formulate emotional, psychological and social needs
• Help service users set recovery goals and develop recovery-focused care plans
• Deliver structured short-term interventions within agreed treatment pathways
• Undertake risk assessments, respond to safeguarding concerns and elevate in line with policy
• Maintain professional boundaries and safe working practices
• Encourage engagement with treatment, peer support and recovery activities
• Support access to external services and community resources
• Liaise with healthcare professionals, referrers and community organisations
• Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions and reviews
• Maintain accurate, confidential and timely records
• Take part in supervision, reflective practice and training, and contribute to service improvement, audit and evaluation
• Nice to have: Background as a PWP or Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, with addiction recovery principles, ideally gambling
• Experience in addiction, criminal justice or residential treatment settings
• Knowledge of motivational interviewing, CBT-informed approaches or trauma-informed practice
• Understanding of co-occurring mental health difficulties and social exclusion
• Experience facilitating psychoeducational or therapeutic groups
