Avery Healthcare Group seeks a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Camberley Woods Care Home to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering stimulating activities for residents. The role runs 10:00 to 16:00 across all seven days, with emphasis on physical, cognitive and social wellbeing in a residential dementia setting.

You'll support community links, maintain a safe environment, and report changes to the care team. DBS disclosure and right-to-work documents are required.

This Wellbeing and Activities Assistant post is at Camberley Woods Care Home, one of over 100 homes run by Avery Healthcare Group. It supports the Wellbeing Coordinator in running varied activities that stimulate residents physically, cognitively and socially, and in building community links. Shifts run 10:00 to 16:00 across all seven days, and recent work with older people in a residential dementia setting is expected. A DBS check and proof of right to work are required.

What the job involves

• Support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities that engage and stimulate residents' physical, cognitive and social wellbeing
• Maintain a safe living and working environment that supports the home's professional image
• Report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff
• Support ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed
• Support links with the local community, such as schools, spiritual groups and museums or libraries, to encourage intergenerational activity

Experience

• Previous work with older people in a residential nursing dementia setting
