Job description

Our stunning care home, The Grand Care Centre, is a purpose-built facility located in West Bridgford, Nottingham. The home is registered to care for 82 residents with diverse needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. Rated GOOD across all domains by CQC, we prioritize safety, comfort, and high-quality care. Our excellent location and reputation support our commitment to a stable, permanent staff team, with zero agency usage for over four years. All staff are paid at least the national minimum wage.

We are seeking a Wellbeing Assistant to join our team.

This role involves creating a caring, inclusive culture around therapeutic activities, supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator, and developing a comprehensive programme that involves the whole team. We offer a 25-hour contract at an hourly rate of £12.21. Shift times are from 10:00 to 15:00, with alternate weekends, and some flexibility is required to meet the needs of the home.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to weekly activity programmes that promote residents' physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
  2. Design innovative programmes enabling residents to achieve their capabilities.
  3. Motivate and support staff to incorporate wellbeing activities into their roles, under guidance from the Wellbeing Coordinator.
  4. Familiarize with residents' life stories and Wellbeing and Activity plans, contributing to their review.
  5. Ensure risk assessments are current and in place for all activities, in liaison with the Wellbeing Coordinator.
  6. Understand the needs of residents with various conditions.
  7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of residents and others the post holder interacts with.
Skills and Experience Required:
  1. Experience working with older people.
  2. Experience delivering activity programmes.
  3. Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate activities for older people.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to emergencies.
  7. Creativity, enthusiasm, and forward planning skills.
