Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Active Health Co-Ordinator to deliver wellbeing programmes and initiatives offered by Sport and Physical Activity. Promoting physical activity to support our university community, this role has a significant impact on improving student and staff wellbeing across campus, based primarily at Goodwin Sports Centre.

You will work with students and staff to deliver sessions, assess wellbeing, create tailored programmes, and report on outcomes while

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Level 3 Exercise Referral Qualification
• Qualified to REP’s Personal Trainer Qualification
• Experience and knowledge of designing personal programmes and conducting gym inductions
• Experience of working with clients who may present with anxiety, stress/depression
• Experience of working in a sport and physical activity industry
• Experience of delivering physical activity and wellbeing classes for varied audiences
• Excellent IT skills with MS Office or similar
• Understanding of health and safety requirements and legislation
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer care skills
• Hold a valid First Aid Qualification

Responsibilities

• Working with clients with a range of medical conditions and wellbeing goals.
• Conducting initial consultations and analysing mental wellbeing.
• Preparing tailored exercise and lifestyle programmes with one-to-one meetings.
• Carrying out regular follow-ups and updating client progress.
• Maintaining detailed client documentation and confidentiality.
• Communicating with referral partners and stakeholders about client wellbeing.
• Delivering wellbeing sessions and educational workshops.
• Reporting and evaluating service improvements and data collection.
• Adhering to referral programme protocols and KPIs.
• Attending required training and ensuring safe use of equipment.
