N-Compass is hiring an Assessment & Support Officer for the Westmorland & Furness team based in Ulverston. You will conduct person-centred assessments with unpaid carers, identify needs and co-create support plans, and help carers access local services. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for travel in the community.
The role focuses on supporting carers to live well alongside their caring responsibilities, with hybrid working from the Ulverston office and community settings.
At N-Compass, we believe carers deserve to be heard, valued and supported. We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Assessment & Support Officer to join our Westmorland & Furness team at our Ulverston office, helping unpaid carers access the support, information and services they need to live well alongside their caring role.
This is more than a job. It's an opportunity to make a genuine difference to people's lives while being part of a supportive organisation where your wellbeing, development and ideas matter.
You’ll work directly with unpaid carers, carrying out person-centred assessments, identifying needs and strengths, and co-producing support plans that help carers achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
You’ll build trusted relationships, provide information and guidance, connect carers with local services, and ensure their voices are heard. The role involves working across the community, meeting carers where they feel most comfortable and helping them navigate challenges with confidence. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential.
You may already have experience in health, social care, community services or the voluntary sector. However, we also welcome applicants with transferable skills and lived experience who are passionate about supporting others.
We're looking for someone who:
