Job summary

Babcock International Group in Swindon is seeking a Welder to move into a Welding Trainer role, delivering welding and fabrication training to military trainees and assessing progress to meet Defence engineering standards.

Based on site at MOD Lyneham, Wiltshire, you will develop lesson plans, maintain records, and provide constructive feedback while ensuring safety and compliance. A Level 3 Welding qualification and DBS clearance are required or anticipated.

Qualifications

• Welding-related apprenticeship and/or a recognised Level 3 qualification in Welding, Fabrication, or a related discipline.
• Enhanced DBS check is required or achievable.
• Full UK Driving Licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and classroom-based welding and fabrication training using a range of welding techniques.
• Prepare and maintain lesson plans, training materials, assessments, and learning resources.
• Assess trainee performance, providing constructive feedback and additional support where required.
• Maintain accurate trainee records, reports, and training documentation.
• Ensure workshops, equipment, and training environments remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
