Job summary

TWI Certification Ltd (TWI Cert) is seeking a motivated Welding Surveyor to join our Welder Certification team. You will deliver industry-recognised certification and examination services, witnessing welding activities at client sites and ensuring compliance with high standards of quality and safety.

Working across various engineering and manufacturing sectors, you will develop expertise in welding standards and participate in a role combining office-based administration with site visits.

Qualifications

  • CSWIP Welding Inspector certification required.
  • Minimum of three GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including English, Maths and Science.
  • Knowledge of welding processes such as TIG, MIG/MAG and SAW.
  • Understanding WPQ/WPQR standards, including ISO 9606 and ASME IX.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector certification desirable.
  • EWF/IIW Welding Coordinator Diploma (Specialist level) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience in welding and/or allied technologies.
  • Experience in UKAS-accredited or similar regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17024 and/or ISO/IEC 17020.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and supporting Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQs).
  • Assisting with Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs).
  • Delivering TWI Cert examinations in line with industry standards.
  • Visiting client sites to witness and assess welding activities.
  • Ensuring certification activities are carried out accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the continued success and reputation of TWI Cert through high-quality service delivery.

Office/Hybrid: Office-based 5 days per week during probation, when not undertaking client site work

Hours: Full-time

Job Profile: Professional

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum + Car Allowance

Security Requirement: Successful completion of a BPSS check is required.

About the Role

Working hours

36 hours per week (full time), 8.30am -16.30pm Monday to Thursday (finishing at 16.15pm on Friday). Part-time and hybrid working available in some roles.
