Job summary

Navantia UK is recruiting an experienced Welding Supervisor to support day-to-day operations within our busy yard, vessel build, repair or inspection environment. You will lead frontline teams safely, allocate resources and ensure work meets quality standards.

Key duties include supervising welding teams, conducting daily safety briefings, monitoring progress and promoting continuous improvement, with BPSS clearance required as part of onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or advanced technical qualification is required.
  • Proven supervisory capability leading frontline teams.
  • Strong welding technical knowledge and hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise welding teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Lead daily safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
  • Monitor progress and escalate risks or constraints.
  • Support attendance, timekeeping and team conduct/performance.

Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Welding Supervisor to support day-to-day operations within a busy yard, vessel build, repair or inspection environment.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical welding experience and proven supervisory capability, who can lead frontline teams safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

As Welding Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating daily work activities, allocating resources, supporting productivity targets, and ensuring all work is completed in line with company procedures, specifications and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and supporting welding teams on a day-to-day basis
  • Leading daily safety briefings and toolbox talks
  • Ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to quality standards
  • Monitoring progress and escalating risks, delays or constraints
  • Supporting attendance, timekeeping, conduct and team performance
  • Promoting safe behaviours, teamwork and continuous improvement
  • Helping develop team members through guidance and on-the-job support

We are looking for someone with an apprenticeship, advanced qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field, along with the ability to lead, coordinate and motivate teams in a hands-on operational environment.
