WEC Group Training Academy (MTL Rotherham) is seeking a Welding Instructor to deliver practical and classroom-based training for the Level 3 Plate Welder Apprenticeship Standard. You will develop future engineers in a supportive learning environment, combining hands-on MIG/TIG welding with teaching and mentoring.

The role emphasizes safety, high teaching standards, and helping apprentices build confidence and technical competence within a leading UK engineering group.

Qualifications

• Excellent practical welding experience.
• Strong hands-on MIG and TIG welding.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Motivate and support apprentices of varying abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 3 Plate Welder Apprenticeship Standard.
• Provide onboarding for new apprentices.
• Teach welding and fabrication techniques with safety focus.
• Assess apprentice performance and give constructive feedback.
• Support apprentices throughout their learning journey.
• Maintain training equipment and workshop facilities to safety standards.
• Promote a positive learning culture with continuous development.
