Job summary

Donovan Marrison Ltd is recruiting an experienced Welding NDT & Coating QC Supervisor for a major oil and gas project in Teesside. This c.12 month contract role involves supervising Welding, NDT and Coating inspection activities and ensuring that subcontractor QC Plans and ITPs are implemented.

The ideal candidate will have proven multi‑disciplined inspection experience in oil and gas, hands‑on welding and NDT inspection, and credentials such as CSWIP/PCN.

Qualifications

• Strong background in welding, coatings and NDT inspection.
• Hands‑on welding and NDT inspection experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Review subcontractor Quality Control Plans, procedures, method statements and ITPs.
• Ensure documentation complies with project specifications, codes, standards and contractual requirements.
• Review and verify subcontractor QC inspector qualifications and certifications.
• Attend witness and hold points for welding, NDT and coating activities.
• Supervise subcontractor inspection activities and verify compliance with approved procedures.
• Review welding inspection reports, NDT results and coating inspection records.
• Ensure inspections, tests and controls are completed in accordance with approved QC Plans and ITPs.
• Maintain quality records, traceability and inspection documentation.
• Ensure subcontractor quality documentation meets project turnover requirements.
• Support the Onshore Quality Engineer across landfall and outlet facility works.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Welding NDT & Coating QC Supervisor to join a major oil and gas project in Teesside. This is a c.12 month contract role working on behalf of our client, a Tier 1 EPCI contractor.

We are looking for an experienced multi-disciplined inspector with a strong background in welding, coatings and NDT inspection within the oil and gas industry.

The role will involve supervising Welding, NDT and Coating inspection activities and ensuring that subcontractor Quality Control Plans and Inspection & Test Plans are correctly implemented.

Main Responsibilities:

• Review subcontractor Quality Control Plans, procedures, method statements and ITPs.
• Ensure documentation complies with project specifications, codes, standards and contractual requirements.
• Review and verify subcontractor QC inspector qualifications and certifications.
• Attend witness and hold points for welding, NDT and coating activities.
• Supervise subcontractor inspection activities and verify compliance with approved procedures.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a multi-disciplined inspector within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong experience in welding, coatings and NDT inspection.
• Previous hands-on welding and NDT inspection experience is essential.
• Good knowledge of welding and coating processes, inspection requirements and defect identification.
• Strong understanding of ITPs, QC Plans and project specifications.

Essential qualifications/certifications:

• BGAS-CSWIP Grade 2 Coating Inspector or equivalent.
• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector.
• PCN Level 2 PT.
• PCN Level 2 MT.
• PCN Level 2 UT.
