Job summary

Salt Separation Services in Rochdale seeks a Welding Engineer to lead welding activities across manufacturing, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient welding processes in line with approved WPS and customer specifications.

You will support structural design for new builds and upgrades, manage weld records, and drive continuous improvement in welding quality and efficiency within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of welding processes and quality requirements.
• Knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and weld traceability systems.
• Understanding of applicable welding codes and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate welding activities across manufacturing to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Develop and control Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) system.
• Maintain Weld Matrix records and ensure traceability accuracy.
• Ensure welding done by trained, qualified personnel.
• Support calibration and maintenance of welding equipment.
• Lead weld quality inspections, audits and process reviews.
• Investigate welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Provide welding expertise to Engineering, Manufacturing and QA teams.
• Participate in design reviews and project stages with welding input.
