Job summary

Imrandd Ltd is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Production team at our Middlesbrough facility. You will perform skilled welding on large steel components used in monopile construction, reading drawings and procedures while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role starts on day shifts at £22.17 per hour plus a 12.5% commissioning allowance, with 40 hours per week. A rotating days/nights schedule with a 30% shift allowance is planned to begin soon.

Qualifications

  • Time-served Welder or Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Experience with FCAW, MCAW and/or SAW welding processes.
  • Current EN ISO 9606-1 welding certification or ability to obtain/revalidate.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment and conduct quality checks.
  • Strong understanding of welding safety practices and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out welding activities using FCAW, MCAW and SAW processes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Inspect, prepare and weld components in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Complete quality control checks using measuring equipment and visual inspection techniques.
  • Operate grinding equipment and associated workshop tools safely and effectively.
  • Support production targets while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Report equipment faults, quality concerns and safety issues promptly.
  • Carry out minor repairs and adjustments to equipment where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to support productivity and efficiency.

Education

Time served Welder or Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)

Welders

We're looking for experienced and motivated Welders to join our Production team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Middlesbrough. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you'll play a key role in the fabrication of large-scale offshore wind monopiles, carrying out high-quality welding operations while ensuring safety, quality and productivity standards are consistently achieved.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business at the forefront of the renewable energy sector, working on major offshore wind projects and contributing to the UK's clean energy future.

The role will initially be working a day shift at £22.17 per hour plus a 12.5% commissioning allowance. Shift patterns are expected to be introduced within the next 4-6 weeks, moving to a rotating pattern of days and nights with enhanced earnings of £22.17 per hour plus 30% shift allowance.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours per week, with a competitive pension scheme and Medicash healthcare plan available.

As a Welder, you'll use a variety of welding processes including FCAW, MCAW and SAW to perform skilled welding activities on large steel components used in monopile construction. You'll be responsible for inspecting, preparing and welding materials to specification, ensuring all work meets strict quality, safety and production requirements.

You'll work from engineering drawings and welding procedures to deliver high-quality welds, conduct quality checks and support the efficient production of components. You'll also be expected to identify and report any quality, safety or production issues and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll be a time-served Welder or hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Welding, Fabrication or a related discipline. You'll have proven experience working with FCAW, MCAW or SAW welding processes and be comfortable working in a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.

You'll possess strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality and safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with multi-wire welding processes.
  • Heavy engineering, offshore, energy or steel fabrication experience.
  • MEWP certification.
  • Experience operating grinding equipment and workshop machinery.
