Job summary

CharTo Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting Fabricator Welders for a permanent role in Barnsley, offering day or night shifts to suit you.

In a busy fabrication workshop, you will fabricate and weld structural steel components while upholding high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural steel fabrication and welding, be able to read engineering drawings, and show strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to handle steel materials safely.
• A safety-first approach with a good understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Preferred qualification in Fabrication and Welding.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, including: UB, UC, PFCs, CHSs.
• Carry out cutting, grinding and welding to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Safely operate hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment where required.
• Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all health and safety procedures.

We are currently recruiting Fabricator Welders on behalf of our well-established client based in Barnsley. This is a permanent opportunity offering either day or night shifts, allowing you to choose the schedule that best suits you.

Working in a busy fabrication workshop, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, including:
• Universal Beams (UBs)
• Universal Columns (UCs)
• Parallel Flange Channels (PFCs)
• Circular Hollow Sections (CHSs)
• Carry out cutting, grinding and welding to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Safely operate hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment where required.
• Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all health and safety procedures.

About You

We're looking for candidates who have:

• Previous experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes.
