Job summary

Aspire Recruitment is partnering with a well-established global manufacturer in Bury, Greater Manchester, to recruit a permanent Welder, Fabricator or Sheet Metal Worker. You will perform TIG/MIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly from detailed drawings, contributing to high-quality, precise equipment.

Expect a varied workload with overtime and a supportive team. Typical hours are 37 per week with early finish every Friday.

Qualifications

• Time-served welding/fabrication experience preferred.
• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Strong TIG and MIG welding skills; stainless steel and sheet metal experience.

Responsibilities

• TIG and MIG welding of precision components.
• Sheet metal fabrication, folding, cutting and assembly.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce high-quality equipment.
• Collaborate with production/engineering to improve processes.
• Support servicing and maintenance activities when required.

Working within a skilled fabrication team, you will manufacture precision components and equipment using a range of sheet metal fabrication techniques. The work is varied, combining bespoke projects with repeat production builds, ensuring no two days are quite the same.

Your responsibilities will include:

• TIG and MIG welding of precision components.
• Sheet metal fabrication, folding, cutting and assembly.
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Producing high-quality equipment to exact standards.
• Collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve processes.
• Supporting servicing and maintenance activities when required.
• Ensuring all work meets quality and safety requirements.
• We're keen to hear from experienced Welders, Fabricators or Sheet Metal Workers who take pride in producing quality work.

You will ideally have:

• Time-served experience in welding and fabrication.
• Level 3 NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Strong TIG and MIG welding skills.
• Experience working with stainless steel and sheet metal fabrication.
• Press brake and metal forming experience.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality standards.

Hours & Pay:

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm

Pay Rates:

• Standard Rate: £16.29 per hour
• Overtime (Monday to Saturday): £24.44 per hour
• Overtime (Sunday): £32.58 per hour
