Job summary

Union Industries is seeking a skilled fabricator to join our fabrication shop in the UK. You will perform door preparation including Mig welding, drilling, tapping, cutting, plasma cutting, fabrication and assembly of High Speed doors and related products, while meeting production deadlines.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, quality checking your own work, and being able to pass a weld test. Experience is helpful but training will be provided in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and develop in a multi-skilled role.
• Keep accurate time records of all work undertaken.
• Candidate will be required to pass a weld test.

Responsibilities

• Door preparation including Mig welding, drilling, tapping, cutting, plasma cutting, fabrication and assembly of High Speed doors and related products.
• Work to production deadlines and maintain quality.
• Read engineering drawings and interpret specifications.
• Quality check your own work and communicate any issues.
• Support team with tooling and process improvements.

This position will suit a multi skilled person who has a natural ability to work well with their hands and his able to use their own initiative to produce quality products.

Key Job Requirements

• Door preparation including; Mig welding, metal drilling, tapping, cutting, plasma cutting, fabricating and assembling our full range of High Speed doors and other products within our manufacturing scope.

• Experience preferred but not essential for the right candidate

Hours of work : 39 per week: Monday to Thursday 7:30am : 4pm and Friday 7:30am : 3pm.

The candidate must be willing to work overtime as and when dictated by workload.
