Job summary

SC ENGINEERING in Sandy, Bedfordshire, seeks an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a permanent role. You will TIG/MIG weld stainless steel, fabricate from drawings, and handle stainless from 1mm–12mm with pipework, purge welding and finishing tasks. Overtime is available and a strong health-safety mindset is essential.

The ideal candidate has welding experience, can read engineering drawings, and is proficient with fabrication machinery. City & Guilds/NVQ in Welding would be advantageous.

Qualifications

Welder / Fabricator

Up to £20.00 per hour + overtime

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

The Role:

• TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel
• Fabricating components and assemblies from engineering drawings
• Working with stainless steel from approximately 1mm-12mm thickness
• Pipework and purge welding
• Cutting, forming, grinding and finishing components
• Operating fabrication and sheet metal machinery
• Working accurately to tolerances and specifications
• Carrying out quality checks on completed work
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and Health & Safety

The Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Welder / Fabricator
• Strong TIG welding experience
• Stainless steel fabrication experience
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Experience using fabrication and workshop machinery
• Good attention to detail and quality
• City & Guilds, NVQ or apprenticeship in Welding/Fabrication would be advantageous

Package:

• Up to £20.00 per hour depending on experience
• Permanent position
• 39-hour working week
• Monday to Friday
