Gi Group UK is seeking a Steel Fabricator / Welder (Structural Steel) in LE9. This permanent, full-time role offers £15 per hour, with 40–45 hours per week and 7:30am–4:00pm shifts.

You will fabricate and weld structural steel and architectural metalwork, read drawings, work to tight tolerances, and contribute to large-scale projects while maintaining safety and quality.

Competenze

• Minimum 2 years fabrication experience.
• Strong MIG welding experience and 6mm multi-run fillet welds.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Previous structural steel fabrication experience.

Steel Fabricator / Welder (Structural Steel)

Location: LE9

Pay: From £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Hours: 40-45 hours per week

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricating and welding structural steel and architectural metalwork.
• Manufacturing steel building frames, staircases, balustrades, canopies, and bespoke steelwork.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Working independently to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years fabrication experience.
• Strong MIG welding experience.
• Experience producing 6mm multi-run fillet welds.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Previous structural steel fabrication experience.
• Ability to work independently and problem solve effectively.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic.

Desirable Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Welding or equivalent welding qualifications.
• CSCS Card (advantageous but not essential).

Working Hours

Standard hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm

Opportunity to start earlier and finish earlier on Fridays.

Regular full-time hours between 40 and 45 hours per week.
