Job summary

Core Group in Cheshire is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our workshop. You will fabricate steel components from GA drawings and ensure workmanship meets engineering standards and safety requirements.

The role requires experience in steel fabrication, the ability to read GA drawings, and the flexibility to work independently or as part of a team. This is a full-time, permanent role with overtime opportunities, ongoing training and a growing, supportive team.

Welder/Fabricator

Location: Cheshire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.71 - £20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week, with overtime available

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication of structural steelwork and steel-framed building components, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel components from General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production targets.
• Ensure all fabrication work is completed to a high standard of quality.
• Use and maintain workshop tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Contribute to a positive and productive workshop environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret GA drawings.
• Experience working with steel-framed structures is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated.
• Experience using a variety of fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
• MIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
