Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc Bristol Machining facility is seeking a skilled TIG Welder on a contract basis within the Turbines sector. The role requires reading blueprints, welding NGVs and components to exact standards, and working a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoons and nights).

You will follow Manufacturing Instructions, maintain high safety standards, and support high-volume production while complying with COSHH and security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

  • TIG welding to agreed standards is essential.
  • Able to read and interpret design drawings.
  • Experience with Nickels/Steels and alloys is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Weld NGVs and engine components to the highest standard using Work Instructions and drawings.
  • Work to meet deadlines and production targets.
  • Comply with health, safety and COSHH requirements at all times.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a contract position at their Bristol Machining facility, within the Turbines sector. We are looking for a Skilled TIG Welder to join on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoon and nights).

What you will be doing:
  • engage in Health and Safety activity
  • produce components at the highest Quality
  • follow Manufacturing Instructions and Data Cards
  • work to meet high volume requirements
What you will be doing:
  • Welding Nozzle Guide Vanes (NGVs) using Work Instructions, Technical Information & drawings, using the information to ensure all Engine components are welded to the highest of standard and are conforming to the required specification.
  • Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and Customer delivery commitments.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety is adhered to a high standard, at all times.

  • Completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3/SVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • (Original trade papers must be available for review at interview).
  • Experienced of TIG Welding to agreed standards is essential.
  • As a Skilled Welder you will have experience in working with Nickels/Steels and Alloys.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings (considered an asset).
  • An up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures.
  • To work for the Rolls-Royce business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.
  • Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
  • Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
