Job summary

SC ENGINEERING in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a busy workshop, producing bespoke metal fabrications from engineering drawings. You will weld with MIG, TIG and MMA on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium and fabricate structures to tight tolerances.

This 8-12 week contract offers £18-£22 per hour, immediate start, and a friendly, professional workshop environment. Applicants should have NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent in Welding/Fabrication and be able to

Qualifications

• NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, or equivalent in Welding/Fabrication
• Proven experience with MIG, TIG, and MMA welding
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Strong fabrication, measuring, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities

• MIG, TIG, and MMA welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
• Fabricate and assemble bespoke metal structures from engineering drawings
• Read and interpret technical drawings accurately
• Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools safely
• Carry out quality inspections to ensure high standards are maintained
