Job summary

Alfred Recruitment LLP is recruiting experienced Welders to support the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset. A Level 2 welding qualification with strong TIG experience and a background in safety-critical or highly regulated environments is essential.

You will perform TIG welding from drawings to procedures, on 10 days on/4 days off shifts, with 22% night uplift and a lodge allowance where applicable. The role offers pay of £29.34–£32.27 per hour plus a potential bonus up to £2.93 per hour.

Hinkley Point C | £29.34-£32.27 per hour + Bonus | 22% Night Uplift | Lodge Available

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Rate: £29.34-£32.27 per hour depending on experience

Potential Bonus: Up to £2.93 per hour

Night Shift Allowance: +22% uplift

Shifts: 10 days on / 4 days off | 10-hour shifts

Overtime: Paid after 38 hours per week

Lodge Allowance: £50.18 per day / £355.67 per week where applicable

We are currently recruiting experienced Welders to join the team working on the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled TIG Welder with a Level 2 welding qualification, strong TIG experience and a background working in safety-critical or highly regulated environments.

We are particularly interested in welders from sectors including nuclear, defence, power generation, marine, oil & gas, petrochemical and heavy engineering.

The Role

You will be carrying out high-quality welding activities in accordance with project requirements, welding procedures, drawings and strict quality standards.

• Carrying out TIG welding to the required quality standards


• Working from engineering drawings, weld maps, WPS and work instructions


• Working within a safety-critical and highly regulated environment


• Ensuring weld quality, inspection compliance and traceability


• Completing welding and project documentation accurately


• Following RAMS, permits and site safety procedures


• Working to strict project quality and safety requirements

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 2 welding qualification - NVQ, City & Guilds, SVQ or equivalent


• Strong TIG welding experience


• Previous experience working within a safety-critical or highly regulated environment


• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical welding documentation


• Good understanding of weld quality, inspection and traceability


• Minimum 3 years' relevant welding experience preferred


• CCNSG Safety Passport - current or able to renew

Desirable:

• Previous coded welding experience


• Experience working to BS EN ISO 9606 or equivalent


• Previous experience within nuclear, defence, power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, marine or heavy engineering


• Experience working with WPS, weld maps, QA documentation and inspection requirements
