Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd seeks a skilled welder for a well-established Ipswich engineering firm. The role covers MIG welding of mild and stainless steel, with occasional TIG work, and involves fabrication duties in a clean workshop.

You must read and interpret engineering drawings, follow weld symbols, and work from 06:00-14:00 or 14:00-22:00 shifts on a rotating basis. A minimum of five years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• MIG welding of mild and stainless steel.
• Reading engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• 5+ years welding experience.
• Able to work independently and adhere to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding from 2mm-15mm.
• Fabricate components using hand and power tools.
• Operate cutting, drilling and grinding machinery.
• Follow health and safety standards.

Job description

We need a welder to work for a well-established engineering firm in Ipswich, Suffolk. This will be a varied welding role, predominantly MIG welding but will also involve some TIG and use of fabrication machinery.

Working Hours: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 (weekly rotating)

Salary: up to £18ph (inclusive of shift allowance)

Contract: Long term contract (likely to be on-going)

To be successful for this role, you MUST be able to MIG weld mild & stainless steel. You will be required to work independently so it is essential that you can read and work from engineering drawings and comply with weld symbols and standards as required.

Welder fabricator duties include:

• MIG Welding from 2mm-15mm
• Fabricating with various hand & power tools
• Use of cutting, drilling & grinding machinery
• Always follow & adhere to the company's health and safety standards

MUST be a competent welder & able to work own your own initiative. We are only considering welders with 5+ years' experience in the field.
