Job summary

KPJ Group in Stretford is seeking a Welder with at least 5 years’ experience to perform MIG, TIG and stick welding on mild and stainless steel. You will work from drawings, samples or copies and handle pipework and short spools.

The role operates Mon-Thu 7:30am–4pm and Fri 7:30am–3pm, with overtime paid at 1.25x (1.5x at weekends). Benefits include a pension contribution and 22 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years welding experience.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG and stick welding.
• Experience working with mild and stainless steel.
• Ability to read drawings or copies.

Job description

We're looking for a Welder to join a specialist fabrication business based Stretford.

This is a role suited to someone with at least 5 years of welding experience, as you will be carrying out MIG, TIG and stick welding across bespoke fabrication and repair work.

What will you be doing as a Welder?

• Carrying out MIG, TIG and stick welding on mild and stainless steel
• Working with materials ranging from 1.5mm to 40mm, with approximately 70% of the work involving mild steel
• Working from drawings, samples or copies
• Welding pipework and producing short pipe spools
• Completing bespoke welding and small fabrication work
• Building up bearing surfaces ready for finish machining
• Repairing bearing housings and reinforcing bosses and bushes
• Repairing brackets, linkages, railings, stairs, fences, doors and water equipment
