Job summary

OA are currently looking to recruit an experienced MIG Welder to join a well-established client based in Daventry. You will MIG weld mainly mild steel components to engineering drawings, set and operate MIG welding equipment, and perform fabrication duties including cutting, grinding and deburring while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Immediate start date available on a temporary contract with the potential to go permanent.

Qualifications

• Experience MIG welding/fabrication, ideally with mild steel.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to specifications.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable team player with good work ethic.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld mainly mild steel components to drawings and specifications.
• Set and operate MIG welding equipment and associated tools.
• Perform fabrication duties including cutting, grinding, drilling and deburring.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and use measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect finished welds and components to meet quality standards.
• Identify and report faults, supporting troubleshooting where required.
• Work to production deadlines while maintaining quality and Health & Safety standards.

Role: MIG Welder

Location: Daventry

Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours a week

Voluntary overtime available

Salary: £17.00 - £18.00 an hour, weekly pay

Duties of a MIG Welder:

• MIG weld mainly mild steel components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set and operate MIG welding equipment and associated tools.
• Complete assembly and general fabrication duties including cutting, grinding, drilling and deburring.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and use measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect finished welds and components to meet quality standards.
• Identify and report faults, supporting troubleshooting where required.
• Work to production deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and Health & Safety.

What we would like from you:

• Previous MIG welding/fabrication experience, ideally working with mild steel.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work accurately to specifications.
• Confident using hand tools and basic fabrication equipment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Able to work to production targets while maintaining Health & Safety standards.
• Reliable, hardworking and a good team player.
