Job summary

Smart Solutions are recruiting a reliable and motivated Weighbridge Operator to join a busy waste and recycling facility in Stevenage.

Location: Stevenage; pay £13.70 per hour, £13.95 per hour with a Forklift licence. Hours: Mon-Fri, 6:00am–3:00pm or 8:00am–5:00pm, with Saturday overtime at 1.5x. This is a Temporary to Permanent position with training and development available.

Qualifications

• Weighbridge experience preferred but training can be provided.
• Attention to detail is important for accurate ticketing and records.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated with a good work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and develop in a site environment.
• Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate the site weighbridge and record vehicle movements.
• Complete weighbridge tickets clearly and accurately.
• Grade incoming materials where required.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and site records.
• Communicate with drivers, customers and site teams.
• Follow all site Health & Safety procedures.
• Support general site operations where required.
• Maintain a professional and organised working environment.

Pay Rate: £13.70 per hour / £13.95 per hour with Forklift licence
Hours: Monday to Friday, either 6:00am – 3:00pm or 8:00am – 5:00pm
Overtime: Some Saturdays available at 1.5x
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

• Support general site operations where required
• Maintain a professional and organised working environment

What We're Looking For

• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated
• Good attention to detail
• Clear and legible handwriting
• Willingness to learn and develop
• Previous material grading experience is desirable but can be taught
• Previous weighbridge experience would be advantageous
• Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential
• Interested in progressing into a permanent position

Pay & Benefits
