Job summary

Heysham Port Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a role to maintain the traffic management system and ensure the safe operation of the site, including Traffic Marshalling when required. You will run the terminal's SCADA system and ensure tickets are processed in line with standard operating procedures.

You'll operate a weighbridge to weigh vehicles accurately, coordinate storage activities, and support safe product movements.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service experience and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with IT software, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience operating a weighbridge and providing administrative support is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the traffic management system and ensure the safe operation of the site.
• Run the terminal's SCADA system and process tickets in line with SOPs.
• Operate a safe and compliant weighbridge and accurately weigh vehicles.
• Coordinate storage activities and support safe product movements.
• Communicate with engineers, operatives and team leaders to discharge vessels.
• Report delays to the Shift Supervisor and support safe movement of products.

Your Role

In this role you will maintain the traffic management system and ensure the safe operation of the site, including Traffic Marshalling as and when required. You will run the terminals SCADA system in a safe and efficient manger, ensuring tickets are processed in compliance with our standard operating procedures. Operating a safe and complaint weighbridge, you will ensure vehicles entering and leaving the site are accurately weighed.

You will communicate with engineers, operatives and team leaders to discharge vessels, help to coordinate storage activities and support the safe and efficient movements of products, ensuring vehicle turnaround times are adhered to or reporting delays to the Shift Supervisor. You will play an important role in ensuring the safe and compliant operation of the Weighbridge.

This role is a fixed term contract.

What you'll bring

You will have excellent customer service experience and excellent communication skills, combined with strong attention to detail. You will be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and able to react to change when necessary. With strong IT skills, you will be able to use a range of different software packages, including Microsoft.

Experience operating a weighbridge and providing administration support in an operational environment would be beneficial.Knowledge of bulk handling methods would be an advantage, experience within food products, food safety standards, or waste regulations is helpful but not essential.
