xPO are seeking a Weighbridge Operator for our British Gypsum contract in Kirkby Thore. The role is based on a 42-hour week (06:00–18:00), four-on, four-off with overtime options. You will liaise with drivers and teams to ensure smooth operations and first-class service on site.

Key tasks include operating weighbridge facilities, inductions for visitors, directing staff, and using Excel, SAP, and XPO IT systems. A positive, can-do attitude and strong MS Office skills are essential.

• Previous administration experience ideally within a logistics environment.
• A positive can-do attitude.
• A strong grasp of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Operate the weighbridge functions including barriers and weighing facilities.
• Ensure all inbound site visitors have the correct permissions, inductions and training.
• Carry out inductions and provide site rules and instruction as required.
• Direct visitors to correct locations and stakeholders onsite.
• Communicate with the yard, warehouse, traffic office and customer as required.
• Utilise multiple IT systems including Excel, SAP and other XPO IT systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and report unsafe behaviours.
• Maintain good hygiene standards on site.
• Conduct relevant Safety Conversations and highlight improvements.

A weighbridge operator acts as a key component of the transport function, liaising with drivers & the wider team regularly to ensure the delivery of a first-class service to our customer. A weighbridge operator would ensure the smooth running of the weighbridge facility, acting as the first and last point of contact for all staff and contractors.

You will be working 42 hours per week, 06:00 - 18:00, 4 on 4 off with the ability to cover the 24-hour current operation hours in the event of holiday/sickness. Overtime is available pre-arranged & unsociable hours.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Operate the key weighbridge functions including barriers and weighing facilities.
• Ensure all inbound visitors to site have the correct permissions, inductions, and training prior to entering site.
• Carry out inductions and provide site rules and instruction as required.
• Direct visitors to the correct locations and stakeholders onsite.
• Communicate with the yard, warehouse, traffic office and customer as required.
• Utilise multiple IT based systems in the effective delivery of the role including Excel, SAP, XPO IT systems and Microsoft Office suite.
• Ensure compliance with company health & safety requirements, challenging unsafe behaviours and raising any concerns with line management.
• Ensure good hygiene standards are maintained.
• Conduct relevant Safety Conversations.
• Identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrate the Company Values.
• Undertake any other reasonable task as required.
