Job summary

CVS Vets Maidenhead is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join our team. You will provide nursing care, assist Vets and Nurses, and help with animal restraint while supporting weelbeing of pets in a busy practice.

The role is 19 hours per week, Saturdays and Sundays 09:00–19:30, permanent contract, based at Summerleaze Road in Maidenhead. Salary aligns with National Minimum Wage, with generous leave and staff discounts available.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and public interaction.
• Resilience and ability to handle emotional situations with kindness.
• Experience in animal welfare including feeding, cleaning and handling.
• Preferably some exposure to a veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients and assist Vets and Nurses.
• Restrain animals when needed and support during procedures.
• Walk, feed and clean patients; prepare emergency and operating facilities.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance; run internal lab samples.
• Answer emergency calls and support reception with appointments and payments.

Role Details:

Location: Summerleaze Road, Maidenhead, SL6 8EW

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 19 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Every Saturday and Sunday, working 09.00 - 19.30. We would be willing to consider a job share so do let us know on your application!

Salary: Will be paid at NMW

About the role:

• Providing nursing care to our patients

• Preferably have experience in a veterinary environment
