Caterpillar is seeking a Weekend Maintenance Team Leader for the Desford Paint Facility in Leicestershire. You will coordinate weekend maintenance activities, oversee a team of technicians, and drive reliability improvements while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / HNC / Apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
• Significant maintenance experience in manufacturing, automotive, industrial or process environments.
• Experience leading teams or supervising maintenance activities.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and reliability principles.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop others.
• Experience working with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Commitment to health and safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all weekend maintenance activities across the paint facility.
• Manage and prioritise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to maximise asset reliability and availability.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, support, and technical guidance to the weekend maintenance team.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site standards and procedures.
• Drive a proactive maintenance culture focused on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Review and allocate maintenance work orders through CMMS.
• Support fault diagnosis and escalation for complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Monitor maintenance performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, reliability, and operations teams to minimise downtime and improve asset performance.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety conversations, and shift handovers.
• Support maintenance planning activities and provide feedback on equipment condition and future maintenance requirements.
