Job summary

The Lion Inn Boreham is seeking a practical, reliable Maintenance Support Operative / Caretaker to join our team. This role involves maintaining grounds, public areas and guest facilities across the property, with weekend work and 32 hours per week at £13.50 per hour.

The role supports day-to-day maintenance requirements, ensuring high presentation standards for guests and hotel spaces, and involves liaising with other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, caretaking or facilities roles.
• Practical DIY skills and basic trade abilities.
• Reliable, proactive, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily property and grounds checks to keep the hotel safe and welcoming.
• Maintain car parks, walkways, entrances and terraces for high presentation standards.
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the hotel.
• Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
• Assist with room, restaurant and event space preparation as needed.
• Log repairs and quotations in the facilities management system.
• Act as caretaker during weekend operations and support guests and staff.
