Job summary

Balliol College in Oxford seeks a Weekend Lodge Porter to join the busy Lodge team at Holywell Manor. The role supports the main reception, handles key issuance, guest check-in/out, and directs visitors across the College facilities.

The post is part-time, 15 hours per week, Saturdays and Sundays, with a 4-month probation. Salary is Grade 4.1 (£27,865 FTE, £11,146 pro rated). pro rata shifts and duties align with security, events, and guest services.

Responsibilities

• Main desk receptionist.
• Issuing room keys and Salto key fobs (for bedrooms and meeting rooms).
• Checking guests in and out.
• Answering and directing telephone enquiries and announcing callers.
• Sorting post and receiving deliveries.
• Selling entrance tickets to tourists.
• Assisting with enquiries from students.
• Directing College and Conference guests to dining and meeting rooms.
• Booking taxis.
