Job summary

Balliol College in Oxford is seeking a part-time, permanent Lodge Assistant to join the busy reception team at Holywell Manor. The role covers front desk duties, guest check-ins, issuing keys, and supporting security and operations across the College.

Working Saturdays and Sundays, 15 hours per week, you will handle telephone enquiries, direct visitors, assist with conferences, and help with room access and AV setup, reporting to the Front of House Manager in a dynamic university environment.

Responsibilities

• Issuing room keys and Salto key fobs for bedrooms and meeting rooms
• Checking guests in and out
• Answering and directing telephone enquiries
• Sorting post and receiving deliveries
• Selling entrance tickets to tourists and assisting with enquiries
• Directing guests to dining rooms and meeting rooms
• Booking taxis and acting as information point
• Overseeing College security and CCTV
• Training as a First Aider and reporting incidents
• Assisting with Degree Day ceremonies and alumni events
• Liaising with Housekeeping and Accommodation departments
• Ensuring AV equipment is set up as booked
