Job summary

Charnwood Oaks in Shepshed is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team and help provide meals for 84 residents. This part-time weekend role is 18 hours per week with weekend shifts and pay at £12.96–£13.32 per hour, depending on qualifications.

You’ll assist with meal prep, food service and helping ensure meals meet dietary requirements while maintaining high hygiene standards and a welcoming dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of meals, snacks and refreshments.
• Supporting the kitchen team with food preparation and service.
• Helping ensure residents receive meals that meet their individual dietary requirements.
• Making mealtimes enjoyable and ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Maintaining food hygiene and safety standards.
• Checking and storing food deliveries correctly.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised.
