Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for Eastridge Manor in Bolney, nr Haywards Heath. The role supports the Head Chef and maintains a clean, hygienic kitchen to deliver meals for residents.

Hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 7am–3pm, with permanent full-time hours and benefits including subsidised staff food, paid breaks, free uniform and DBS, pension, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• To wash and dry all meal time crockery and cutlery.
• Cleaning of all food trays following use on their return to the kitchen.
• To wash and dry all bowls, trays, saucepans etc as used by the Head Chef promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
• Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately.
• Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking porridge and helping to prepare salads and desserts.
• Preparing breakfast.
