Job summary

Avara Foods Ltd in Hereford is recruiting Weekend Hygiene Operatives to help maintain high hygiene standards at our Hereford site.

No experience required as full training is provided. Working hours are 18:00–06:00 Saturday and 18:00–02:00 Sunday, with £13.67 per hour plus £2.46 shift allowance; paid weekly with guaranteed hours and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
• The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
• Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks.
• Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Understand and attain individual and department targets.
• Be aware of the usage of materials and energy sources.
• Co-operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards.
• Manual handling of plant and equipment.
• Isolation of plant and machinery.
• Meet housekeeping and hygiene standards as part of a team.
• Comply with food safety and HSE guidelines.
• Carry out instructions from Team Leader/Management.

About the role

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play an instrumental part in achieving the required hygiene standards with the Hygiene team for Avara Foods. You will adhere to health and safety at all times and follow all tasks in line with food safety rules.

Duties include :

• Understanding and attainment of both individual and department targets.
• Awareness of the usage of material and energy sources.
• Co-operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards.
• Manual handling of plant and equipment
• Isolation of plant and machinery
• To meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team.
• Compliance with food safety and HSE guidelines
• To carry out instructions as given to you by your Team Leader/Management
