Job summary

Tottington High School, part of Shaw Education Trust, seeks a reliable Farm Assistant to provide 3 hours of weekend cover each week at the Bury campus. Shifts are between 8.00am and 4.00pm, year-round, with arrangements made with the other weekend team member.

You will assist with daily animal care, monitor health, clean housing and support maintenance. This role requires weekend work, potential extra hours in term time, and compliance with safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

• Reliable and responsible individual.
• Comfortable working with both small and large animals.
• Able to work weekends and lone work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily care and feeding of farm animals.
• Monitor animal health and report concerns promptly.
• Maintain clean and safe animal housing, paddocks, and farm facilities.
• Support routine farm maintenance, including fencing, grounds upkeep, and equipment care.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and animal welfare standards.
• Assist with farm activities and educational programmes when required.
