Shaw Education Trust is seeking a reliable weekend farm assistant to provide 3 hours of cover each week at Tottington High School’s farm site. You’ll work 8:00am–4:00pm on weekends, with one day shared with another team member.
The role includes key holder duties and lone working, with opportunities for extra hours in term time. You'll handle small and large animals on site, assist with feeding, health monitoring, housing upkeep, and basic farm maintenance, while following health and safety
We are looking for a reliable and responsible individual to join our team and provide 3 hours of weekend cover each week, all year round. The weekend day and working hours can be agreed flexibly with the other weekend team member, with hours falling between 8.00am and 4.00pm, giving you the opportunity to find an arrangement that works well for you.
The role will provide important weekend support and help to ensure continuity of cover when the Farm Manager takes annual leave during term time, there may also be opportunities to work additional hours during term time, although these will be subject to the needs of the farm and cannot be guaranteed.
This is a role suited to someone who is reliable, confident working independently and happy to take responsibility, as it includes key holder duties and lone working. It offers a great opportunity for someone looking for flexible, regular weekend work within a supportive environment.
Applicants should be confident and comfortable working with both small and large animals, the current animals on site include three alpacas, two sheep, three goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens.
