Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Weekend Engineering Supervisor to lead a three-person engineering team during weekend shutdowns in Witney. You will drive planned maintenance, reliability tasks and PPM execution while coordinating with production and other supervisors.

The role demands hands-on leadership, strong PPM/reliability experience and the ability to allocate workloads. SAP work orders management and a focus on continuous improvement are essential for success.

Qualifications

• PPM & reliability maintenance experience required.
• Ability to lead and prioritise tasks for weekend workloads.
• Experience in manufacturing environments is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP work orders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on leading a team of 3 engineers to complete planned maintenance and reliability tasks.
• Coordinate PPMs with production and other supervisor.
• Allocate workloads and close work orders in SAP.
• Create new PPM plans and monitor reliability improvements.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical PPMs and CI tasks when needed.
• Liaise with stores for spare forecasts and part needs for weekend tasks.

Do you want to work for a leading manufacturer, with the job security of being part of a global group. They are looking for a Weekend Engineering Supervisor to lead a team that carries out all PPM and reliability engineering activities during the weekend shutdown period.

Role & Responsibilities of the Weekend Engineering Supervisor

• Hands-on leading a team of 3 engineers to complete planned maintenance & reliability tasks


• Work closely with the other engineering supervisor to organise PPM's around production


• PPM workload allocation, prioritsation of tasks, completion of work orders in SAP


• Create new PPM plans, monitoring reliability engineering and suggest improvements


• Still partake in hands-on tasks with the team, electrical & mechanical PPM's, CI work and repairs of production machinery


• Liaise with the storesperson to report on used spares, parts and forecast what will be needed for future weekend PPM tasks

Knowledge, Skills & Experience needed to be the Weekend Engineering Supervisor

• Strong PPM & reliability maintenance experience


• Able to lead from the front, prioritise tasks and organise PPM's schedules effectively


• Experience as a team leader or proven track record of working towards


• Ideally be a multi-skilled engineer


• Beneficial if completed a time-served apprenticeship


• Knowledge of continuous improvement & reliability engineering


• NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering


• Previously have worked in some form of manufacturing environment would be advantageous


• Ideally have used SAP systems or something similar


• Comfortable being the most senior person on site over the weekends
