Job summary

Corin is a global orthopaedics company based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, producing hip and knee implants. We are launching a weekend shift and seeking a Manufacturing Shift Manager to lead a 15-25 person team and deliver safety, quality and delivery targets.

The role offers strong work-life balance with Monday to Thursday free each week, a £40,000 base salary plus 28% shift allowance (£51,200 total) and a performance bonus. Training, health benefits and a supportive environment are included.

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams of 15-25 operatives.
  • Strong coaching, communication and organisational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience building positive relationships across multiple functions.
  • Proactive, collaborative and results-driven approach.
  • ILM Level 5 qualification (or working towards) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong health, safety and compliance culture.
  • Ensure products are manufactured to specification and quality standards.
  • Deliver production plans and performance targets.
  • Drive operational excellence through 5S, Kaizen and process improvements.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues using root cause analysis.
  • Ensure materials, skills and resources are available to support production schedules.
  • Optimise labour deployment to maximise efficiency and output.
  • Escalate and address issues affecting operational performance.
  • Lead team development through training, one-to-ones and performance reviews.
  • Create a positive, accountable and engaged working environment.
  • Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Quality, Planning and HR teams.
  • Manage shift handovers and communicate priorities, progress and challenges.

Shift pattern - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 5:30am - 6:30pm

We're launching a new weekend shift and are looking for a Manufacturing Shift Manager to join our leadership team. This role offers an excellent work-life balance, with Monday to Thursday free every week.

You'll be responsible for leading a manufacturing team to achieve safety, quality and delivery objectives, ensuring efficient operations, effective resource planning and a high-performing team environment.

What we're looking for:

The key responsibilities for the Manufacturing Shift Manager are:

To support your onboarding, you'll complete an initial Monday to Friday training period. Training can be tailored to suit your experience and circumstances, with the following shift options available:

  • Earlies: 5:30am-2:00pm Mon-Thu, 5:30am-11:00am Fri
  • Lates: 1:45pm-10:15pm Mon-Thu, 10:45am-4:15pm Fri
  • Days: 8:30am-5:00pm Mon-Thu, 8:30am-4:30pm Fri
  • Nights: 10:00pm-5:45am Mon-Thu, 4:00pm-8:50pm Fri
