Job summary

Corin Group in Cirencester is seeking a Manufacturing CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, perform in-process quality checks, and follow GMP standards. The role offers weekend shifts (Fri-Sun) with training during the week and a starting salary of £26,600 plus a shift allowance from day one.

After training, you will rotate through early, late, day, and night shifts across the weekend pattern. Training lasts 2–12 weeks with flexible scheduling to fit around you.

Qualifications

  • Experience setting and operating CNC machines in a similar environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Committed to GMP in daily work.
  • Good maths and English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines across multiple processes.
  • Carry out in-process quality checks to ensure right-first-time production.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a safe, organised workspace.
  • Identify and report faults, risks and non-conforming parts.
  • Work to production schedules to meet delivery targets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with SOPs.
  • Support and guide team members where needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

You'll workweekend shifts only – Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 5:30am –6:30pm – giving you Monday to Thursday completely free every week!

To set you up for success, you'll receive comprehensive training during the week, tailored to your experience and learning pace. Training will be on Mondays to Fridays and can last from 2 to 12 weeks. We can be flexible to fit around you and offer an initial day shift, rotating earlies and lates shifts, just earlies or lates or nights. Plus, you'll benefit from a salary of £26,600.00 plus shift allowance starting from 25%, rewarding you from day one.

Permanent Shift Pattern (after training complete)

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5:30am - 6:30pm (37.5 hours per week)

  • Earlies - 5.30am - 2:00pm Monday to Thursday, 5:30am - 11:00am on Friday
  • Lates - 1:45pm - 10:15pm Monday to Thursday, 10:45am - 4:15pm on Friday
  • Days - 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 4:30pm on Friday
  • Nights - 10:00pm - 5:45am Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm - 8:50pm on Friday
As a Manufacturing CNC Machinist, you will:
  • Set up and operate CNC machines across multiple processes
  • Carry out in-process quality checks to ensure right-first-time production
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and maintain a safe, organised workspace
  • Identify and report faults, risks, and non-conforming parts
  • Work to production schedules to meet delivery targets
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with SOPs
  • Support and guide team members where needed
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor tooling, consumables and equipment performance
  • Promote lean principles and efficient ways of working
What we're looking for
  • CNC Machinist with experience setting and operating CNC machines in a similar environment
  • Good standard of secondary education, ideally including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Accountable, quick to learn, approachable and a strong team player
  • Able to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
  • Keen interest in new technologies, machinery and learn manufacturing concepts
  • Willingness to learn and follow company procedures (SOPs, WIs, STMs)
  • Committed to following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in daily work
